Atsushi Kanomata is a graduate of Pacific College of Oriental Medicine (PCOM) San Diego in 2003 with a Masters in Science in Traditional Oriental Medicine. He holds an undergraduate degree in Kinesiology from San Diego State University's department of Exercise and Nutritional Science. He has been practicing acupuncture since 2004 first on Oahu, Hawaii and now in San Diego for the past 13 years.
Atsushi has first hand experience of the power of acupuncture and alternative medicine. As a teenager suffered a severe low back injury that sidelined him from competitive sports and even normal daily activities. This injury set the path for which would be his life long pursuit to further understanding of the human body.
Atsushi's interests in sports such as surfing, golf, yoga and martial arts: combined with his Education in Kinesiology and Oriental Medicine gives him a unique understanding in the movement of the body.
Atsushi Kanomata holds a Medical Certification through Titleist Performance Institute (TPI) which enables him to perform golf-specific injury assessment and rehabilitation techniques to get golfers performing to the next level.
Atsushi is also certified as a Practioner of Symmetry. Symmetry is a patented physics-based program which focuses on pain relief through postural re-alignment and corrective exercises. This system takes measurements of physical misalignment and personalized exercise routines are created for each individual patient.
Cecilia Anton is a licensed acupuncturist and herbalist certified by the State of California and National Certification Commission for Acupuncture & Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM). Born and raised in New York City, she graduated from the Fashion Insitute of Technology and spent more than 20 years as a fashion designer.The highly stressful position of creating new collections every season led to chronic shoulder pain. Afterreceiving numerous acupuncture treatments, she decided to enroll at Pacific College of Health and Science,completing 3,000-plus hours of clinical and practical training.
Cecilia thrives at expelling pain from sprains, strains, muscular atrophy, and acute to chronic injuries. Sheinvites you to recharge and rehabilitate by taking command of your well-being. Ing-Jun Hwang, DACM, MS, MA, is a licensed acupuncturist certified by the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture & Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM) and the State of California Acupuncture Board. She holds a doctorate in Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine and a Master's in Maharishi Ayurveda and Integrative Medicine. She is also a nationally certified medical Mandarin interpreter for CCHI and NBCMI.
Before practicing medicine, Dr. Hwang worked as a Chinese translator in Taiwan and the U.S. for various industries and as a Mandarin instructor for government agencies and private sectors since 1992. Her extensive experience in language translation and instruction shaped her unique ability to deliver and express personal messages across cultural differences.
After observing the lack of an integrative healing concept in modern medical settings through her medical interpretation work, Dr. Hwang was inspired to pursue traditional Eastern medicine knowledge to offer holistic healing techniques to serve others. She uses her unique communicative skills and individualization approaches to help patients understand their own physiological signs and symptoms based on traditional Eastern medicine theories and Western medicine principles.
In today’s fast-paced world, people experience and accumulate physical and emotional stress and strain from the modern lifestyle. Dr. Hwang’s integrative healing modalities derived from Traditional Chinese Medicine and Indian Ayurvedic Medicine, such as Pulse Reading, Acupuncture, Cupping, Gua Sha, Tui Na, Marma therapy, and individualized constitution recommendations help alleviate patients’ physical and emotional pain and imbalance. Her mission is to help patients activate self-referral healing mechanisms and restore perfect balance in body, mind, and consciousness.
In her leisure time, Dr. Hwang enjoys exploring astrology, metaphysical disciplines, music, yoga, meditation, and immersing in nature through hiking and gardening.
